Vikki and I had a very deep and very real conversation. Vikki has experienced a relationship that didn't work out. She talked about how her husband abandoned her without any explanation..he just left. She explains to Keep It Real how she felt and now she helps other women who went or going through the same situation. Vikki Stark, family therapist known worldwide as a divorce recovery expert, is the editor of Planet Heartbreak: Abandoned Wives Tell Their Stories and the author of Runaway Husbands: The Abandoned Wife's Guide to Recovery and Renewal. In her work as a therapist, her publications and her profile as a public speaker and workshop leader, she has dedicated herself to helping women who are struggling following divorce recover and rebuild their lives. Vikki has an active international psychotherapy practice in which she works with clients both in her lovely Montreal office and worldwide online. She is the founder and director of the Sedona Counselling Centre of Montreal, where she have experienced therapists providing a full range of therapy services to individuals, couples and families. Vikki is also an international guest expert on television and radio on issues related to mental health and emotional well being, notably appearing on NBC’s The Today Show and Oprah radio. Vikki was featured in Time Magazine and Maclean’s (Canada), among many other media appearances. Vikki is a New Yorker but moved to Montreal in the 80’s and feel at home in both places! She practiced Buddhism in her twenties so eastern thought informs her practice. Vikki loves nature, puzzles, walking, yoga, her little dog Chloe, world music and anything that makes her laugh. She write a blog for Psychology Today called Schlepping Through Heartbreak for magazine that has had over 4 million views. Vikki have written three books and edited a fourth. Her first book is about sister relationships and the other three are about divorce and divorce recovery.
