One tablespoon of sugar is not the daily limit for everyone. It is an easy way for you to visualize how quickly added sugar can add up. One Tablespoon of Sugar a day that what I followed and that rule lead to the reversal of Diabetes Type 2. Not to mention several other actions I took. Added sugar daily limits For most healthy adults: Men: about 36 grams per day (about 9 teaspoons or 3 tablespoons) Women: about 25 grams per day (about 6 teaspoons or 2 tablespoons) Food Labels Facts: A product can say "Sugar Free" and still contain sugar alcohols or artificial sweeteners. Always read the ingredient list. Look for words ending in "-tol" if you want to avoid sugar alcohols. Bottom Line Regular sugar is still sugar. Sugar alcohols are different from sugar, but not better if your consumption is high. Artificial sweeteners are different from sugar alcohols. Some are better choices than others depending on the person. Too much of anything can be a problem. Eating mostly whole, unprocessed foods is still the healthiest approach according to current nutrition research.
