Als Open Source wird Software bezeichnet, deren Quelltext öffentlich und von Dritten eingesehen, geändert und genutzt werden kann. So weit die Definition von Wikipedia. Viele verbinden mit Open Source uneingeschränkte Freiheit in der Nutzung des Quelltexts und setzen Open Source insofern mit Freeware auf eine Stufe. Doch weit gefehlt. Auch wenn Open Source einen konsequenten Community Ansatz in der (Weiter-)Entwicklung von Softwarebibliotheken und -programmen verfolgt, sind bei der Nutzung von Open Source Software zahlreiche Regeln zu beachten. Mit meinem Gesprächspartner Simon Pletschacher, seinerseits Open Source Lizenzexperte, werfen wir in diesem Podcast einen Blick hinter die Kulissen von Open Source und diskutieren typische Stolperfallen, u.a. bei der Einbindung von Open Source Bibliotheken in eigenentwickelte Software.Ausblick: Es wird weitere Folgen zu diesem Themen geben.
