Operation TBI Freedom on Recovery Now with Kim Justus

Frederick Hinton served in the US. Army for over 21 years.  He served three combat tours overseas; 2 deployments to Iraq and 1 to Afghanistan, spending  a total of 39 months deployed. During his first deployment he also sustained his first TBI, and took many direct hits by IED’s. Fred was never officially diagnosis until his wife started seeing signs he was having trouble doing certain tasks. He hid it from many people, scared to admit that he was having issues with memory, concertation and aphasia. Fred went on to his 2nd and 3rd deployments, telling no one of his symptoms, until it got so bad he couldn’t remember how to get home. He felt his work in the Army suffered due to his TBI and PTSD. Fred’s awards including Two Bronze Stars, Combat Action Badge, Army Medal with Valor. After Fred was discharged, he discovered Operation TBI Freedom, a program of Craig Hospital, where he serves as an Eligibility Specialist. (OTF) is a program of Craig Hospital that provides support for Veterans and active duty military personnel with traumatic brain injuries. They are privately funded and assist Veterans and Service Members who have served at least one day on or after September 11, 2001.
