Optometry: Your Hobby or Profession?
Optometry is a cushy career. let's face it. We don't have to deal with blood, the patients that visit us are usually well and not sick, we have normal office schedules, we get to sell retail goods to make us more money, and we get to put smiles on peoples faces when they see better. Some doctors like to spin the dials and go home, while others enjoy the chase of always keeping up on technology trends and catering towards their patients (even when age starts catching up with you). For myself, Dr. Brilll, I'm addicted to optometry. It's a drug. I always want to read more, go to more conferences, chat with OD friends until midnight about business and clinical stuff.
