Orison’s Vigil

KINTSUGI is an original cinematic science fiction short film about Japanese American twin sisters torn apart by the destruction of Milwaukee and drawn back together across the stars. Mei is rescued from the ashes by Orison, her family’s robotic protector, and taken to the luminous world of Aurelune. Mio survives in the ruins of Earth, believing her twin and her family are gone. Years later, a warning from beyond Earth pulls Mio into a wider war against the same force that destroyed their city. Across alien worlds, ancient weapons, and the scarred remains of Milwaukee, the twins’ separate journeys become one story of loss, survival, memory, and reunion. Inspired by the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, Kintsugi is about what remains after catastrophe — and how broken lives can still hold light.
