OS 1391: Still Lovin’ That Nor’easter…

from The Outdoors Show

Whether you call it “nor’easter” or “northeaster”, everybody was calling it a welcome change from the weather has been doing. Great fishing and fun, with lots of stories about it. Speaking of great stories and great fishing, Jeff spent some time down south recently, and brought a guest back with him: Capt. Jeff Maggio of Lunkerdog! Get the lowdown on Jeff’s trip with him, all the great YouTube he’s posted over the years, all about Lunkerdog, and a fantastic story about his time with Mark Sosin. If you want to learn more about what Capt. Jeff is doing, click HERE to visit the official website. We also heard from representatives of the upcoming Young Life Triple Challenge and Flounder Pounder tournaments…which means the First Coast has some great chances for great prizes coming their way this fall. Here’s your L.V. Hiers gear tip of the week: According to Jeff, Mullethead was right! The Dragonfly Wingman may sound silly, and the product description may look REALLY sketchy, but here’s Jeff’s quote: “These jokers work!” Jeff hasn’t been bitten by a horsefly in his outdoor shower since putting them out! Click HERE to get yours. Here’s your Ring Power CAT tip of the week: St. Augustine is a much better inlet to fish during a Northeaster. You can easily cast net mullet in Salt Run and fish out of the wind at Porpoise Point. The docks and bridges should be on fire this weekend! Here’s your KirbyCo Builders’ Cooking Tip of the Week: Tera’s Tomato Pie – Slice your tomatoes in the morning. Sprinkle with salt. Put them out on paper towels to get the moisture out all day. Flip a few times throughout the day with new paper towels. – Use a deep dish pie crust (Tera uses premade) and put it in the oven for about 10 mins at 350 to get bottom done. – Combine a cup of shredded cheese, 1/2 cup dukes mayo and a 1/2 cup sour cream together. – Caramelize a sweet onion and when done mix in a few pieces of cooked/chopped bacon. – Layer tomatoes, onion mix in the pie pan until it’s all gone. Spread the cheese mixture on top of tomatoes. – Bake at 350 until it’s done (about 40 mins) Enjoy!!   Facebook
