Many youth with special needs will require 24-7 supervision and care throughout their lives. The State of Nebraska helps provide some funding, but many still need to be included.Parents without significant resources are faced with difficult choices. They can quit their jobs (which often involves going on welfare to provide care for their children) or have to leave their children to the state.Stress is a factor. Parents are under constant stress. Finding care so that a parent or guardian can go shopping, go out to dinner, or attend an evening meeting is nearly impossible.Our Place After School Care receives little state funding due to many state regulations.
