Outspokenness

from Robot Monk Xian'er

Outspokenness: Candidness or Rudeness? Whether outspokenness is candidness or rudeness, the difference lies in the depth and wisdom of mind. So we need to see one’s mind very clearly. A straight mind is the essence of cultivation, which means that one faces the inner afflictions without any disguise, avoidance, and fear. To cultivate one's mind is to practice Buddhism. To be outspoken, one should first look into and clean up their mind to become respected and amiable. If one is not aware of their afflictions and do not control them, simply criticizing others is rude and annoying.
