De stem van Philip Bloemendal vaak te horen in OVT door zijn werk voor het Polygoonjournaal. Maar hoe bekend ook zijn geluid, hoe onbekend zijn leven. Philip Bloemendal was een joodse jongen uit de textiel die door onder te duiken de oorlog overleefde, maar bijna zijn hele familie kwijtraakte. Begin jaren 80 vertelde Bloemendal, met een microfoon om zijn hals, aan zijn zoon Robert zijn levensverhaal. Al die jaren hebben negen cassettebandjes in een kast gelegen. Dankzij programmamaker Erik Willems hoort u nu het programma De Bloemendal Tapes over het onbekende verhaal van de stem van Nederland.
