Owning Your Strengths with Jeff Van Note

from The Ginni Show

What are your strengths? What are your weaknesses? Getting to know the depths of yourself, owning your strengths, and identifying your weaknesses is no small feat. In life, we’re constantly critiquing ourselves and being critiqued by others. It’s all too easy to fall into the trap of focusing on what we’re not good at—and need to improve on—rather than where our natural talents lie. But it’s also equally important—if not more important—to also focus on your strengths. Having that self-awareness to know what you’re good at is a great power that you hold. It allows you to focus on where you can add value, continue growing, and be empowered. In this episode, I talk with mortgage professional and host of the Deposit That podcast: Jeff Van Note. He embodies this concept of owning yourself, focusing on your strengths, and avoiding the pit of comparison. He shares personal stories that led him to achieve his high level of self-awareness, and how this impacts his work in the world. Tune in to hear more about learning and owning your strengths to put you on the path to happiness. Jeff’s Happiness Hack: “Focusing on two to four things that you absolutely need on a daily basis. So if that's stopping and getting a wheatgrass shot, or stopping and getting a protein shake every morning, or meditating before bed, or taking a CBD bath — whatever it might be — you need to make sure you incorporate those two to four things in your everyday life and build off of that.”Some Questions I Ask:  - How did you reach your level of self-awareness? (2:41) - What experiences throughout your life have forced you to look within to cultivate your mindset? (6:53) - How did you build up your ability to meditate for over an hour at a time? (9:53) - What is your definition of happiness? Are you living it? (13:17) - Where do you think entrepreneurship is going? (23:03)In This Episode, You Will Learn:  - How Jeff started out his career and identified his strengths and weaknesses. (2:57) - About Jeff’s meditation process. (9:01) - What rituals and strategies Jeff uses to put him on the path to success daily. (19:01) - How to find out if someone really is passionate about their job.
