Padma Sachdev is not just a poet! She with her writings has strived to popularize her mother tongue of Dogri. Though Dogri has millions of dedicated speakers, it was often considered a mere dialect. Padma has taken initiative to promote it through her writings. Padma was conferred with awards such as Padma and Sahitya Academy… and most importantly her wish to see her language being recognized as an official language got fulfilled.
