Parables: Forgiven Much - Loved Much

On Mother’s Day, Pastor Dave teaches from Luke 7:36-50 (with Joseph’s story in Genesis 50) on the beautiful connection between forgiveness and love. A notoriously sinful woman crashes a Pharisee’s dinner, weeps at Jesus’ feet, wipes them with her hair, and pours out a year’s wages in perfume. Jesus tells the parable of two debtors—one forgiven little, one forgiven much—and declares, “Her many sins have been forgiven—for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.” The message challenges us to remember how much we have been forgiven by God, to release bitterness and self-unforgiveness, and to respond with extravagant, grace-giving love.
