They explore the concept of children's challenging behavior as a physiological need to be seen, rather than a choice, and discussed Reah's experience with her adopted 10-year-old son, who struggles with stealing and attention-seeking behaviors. Tina offered insights on how to approach Reah's son's behavior through understanding his need to be seen and validated, rather than viewing it as moral or intentional. Tina shares her personal experience of connecting with her deceased father through a medium, which confirmed his abusive behavior towards her mother. She explains how dissociation can protect children from facing the reality of their parents' inability to care for them due to trauma. Tina recommends using "ICU letters" as a powerful tool for healing! When composing these letters, it is important to include compassion for the child(ren)'s birth/absent parent(s) and healing for the child(ren) in the letter. They discuss the importance of providing positive attention to help the child(ren)'s behavior improve and emphasized the power of written communication in building intimacy and understanding between parent and child.
