Parenting Our Teens Without Drama or Disconnection

from Living Wellness Muse Podcast · host Leanne Elliott

The teen years can be a wild ride! As parents, it’s our job not to make them even harder. It’s tempting to make it about us and what we want and need - which is usually feeling in control of their lives even when that isn’t the reality anymore. The painful part is accepting that, loosening the grip, learning to trust them, and walking them through the highs and lows as they come with love, love, and more love. Today I'm joined by Trish Hecker, both a mom of teens and a certified sex ed teacher, as we take a deep dive into how to parent our teens without all of the drama and disconnection our culture has come to expect. About TrishTrish is a mom of two teenagers and passionate about the confidence and self-advocacy that sexual health education provides, at all ages. She has a certificate in Sexuality Education and a Masters in Arts in Social Sciences with an emphasis in Human Development and Educational Studies from Antioch University. With over twenty years in the hospitality industry and in business management, Trish understands the power of healthy communication, removing shame, and incorporating honesty and respect when talking to children and adolescents about sexual health.Learn more at Trish's website: https://www.opendoorsupport.com/Follow  on Instagram: @opendoorsupportedConnect on Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/thetrishhecker/Thank you to this week’s episode sponsor:  All Checked OffProfessional Organizing Serviceshttps://www.allcheckedoff.com/✨ Join the Private Podcast Club – A monthly magazine subscription and private podcast inspiration.  💫 Work with Leanne – Intuitive sessions, energy healing, and guidance for midlife reinvention📲 Follow @livingwellnessmuse on Instagram & Facebook💼 LinkedIn: Leanne Cooper Elliott🎙️ New episodes drop twice a month on Thursday
