Parliament Committee receives advice on President Ramaphosa Phala Phala testimony.

Parliament's impeachment committee has received legal advice confirming that President Cyril Ramaphosa can be called to testify in its inquiry into the Phala Phala matter. SABC Parliamentary reporter Zalene Merrington says the advice indicates that, like any other witness, the President can be subpoenaed if he declines an invitation to appear. The Impeachment committee is in the process of finalising its administrative work after a Western Cape High court ruling temporarily halted its hearings. The judgment is the result of Ramaphosa's bid to halt the committee until his application to review the Section 89 Independent Panel report is heard in September.
