Dr. Sharon Holland is a Professor in American Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she teaches a class on animal studies. She has written several books, with her work exploring areas of race, feminist, and queer theory. Her journey alongside animals during her life, and living with dogs at home, has informed her intimate perspective around animal studies.
