Blue lights reflected off the river, then a blinding light, then three grey, elephant-skinned creatures with crab-like pincers. A puncture on his arm left him paralyzed but awake as he was floated into the craft, scanned by a device that dropped from the ceiling, and examined by a more human-like female who told him telepathically that they would not harm him. Then he was back on the riverbank, and the craft was gone. The details keep researchers coming back: the men did not want to report it, the sheriff's department secretly taped their private conversation and heard genuine terror, Hickson passed a polygraph, J. Allen Hynek of Project Blue Book interviewed them and could not dismiss them, and puncture marks were documented. The story leaked through a police scanner and became national news, and Parker spent decades dodging the media. In 2018 he finally published Pascagoula: The Closest Encounter: My Story with Philip Mantle, unedited and in his own words.
