Some UFO stories are a single witness with a wild claim. On October 11, 1973, two men fishing on the Pascagoula River in Mississippi were taken aboard a UFO by robotic beings, examined, and released, and the story never died. The details keep researchers coming back: the men did not want to report it, the sheriff's department secretly taped their private conversation and heard genuine terror, Hickson passed a polygraph, J. Allen Hynek of Project Blue Book interviewed them and could not dismiss them, and puncture marks were documented. The story leaked through a police scanner and became national news, and Parker spent decades dodging the media. In 2018 he finally published Pascagoula: The Closest Encounter: My Story with Philip Mantle, unedited and in his own words. He also recounts a 1993 missing-time event at Cat Island, his hypnotic session with Budd Hopkins, a violent confrontation with a being he believed was trying to implant him, and his meeting with Betty Hill. Are we alone in the universe?
