Patrik Nilsson - All eyes on KONA, Triathlon & Parenthood, IM Frankfurt & more!

from The Pacing and Racing Podcast · host The Pacing and Racing Podcast

Today’s guest is Swedish Pro Triathlete Patrik Nilsson!  So, like many other pros around this time of season; Patrick has his focus on one race; KONA.  With last years unfortunate DNF and his 2017 top 10 finish; Patrick has his eyes set on that podium and I truly believe he is one of the few that will be top contenders for that podium this year; and you’ll hear his thoughts all about KONA in this episode!  Patrick is only 27 years old and has been racing since 2013 with a previous background as a competitive swimmer! To point out some of his results this season; he had the first place win at IRONMAN Texas, 2nd place in the IM 70.3 Sweden after a crash on the bike, 2nd at IM 70.3 Dubai and a 4th place at IM 70.3 Denmark!. Going back a little bit further, Patrick had notable race results at the very competitive IM Frankfurt with a 3rd place in 2017 and a 2nd place in 2018 (alongside Jan Frodeno and Patrick Lange).  In today's episode, not only do we dive into his preparations and thoughts leading into KONA, but we also discuss what’s ahead for him after KONA, what life is like juggling pro triathlon alongside parenthood, and he even offers up some great training tips for age group triathletes! Patrick also talks about what it’s like being apart of the BMC-Vifit Pro Triathlon Team and being a Redbull Athlete and so much more. Enjoy the podca
