Pause, Ponder, Let It Flow
from The Curious Pause
Pam reflects on contemplation as a way to pause, turn inward and meet whatever is happening with honesty and care. Unlike meditation, which she describes as stilling the mind, contemplation allows us to use the mind to explore our inner world, listen to the body and gain a different perspective on the difficulties we face. She shares a simple approach: pause, accept what is present, then gently ask: What do I want? What do I need? What might be the best way forward? Pam also explores vulnerability, self-compassion and how emotions can begin to shift when we make space for them. A rather smelly encounter involving her dog and some sheep dung brings a little levity to the conversation before she considers how contemplation might help us create a more loving, just and sustainable world.
