La historia que narra la vida de una personaje delictivo llamado Pedro Navaja, tiene su origen en Inglaterra en 1702 con el famoso asaltante Jack Sheppard. 200 años después llega a Alemania inspirando a Bertold Bretch y su personaje Mackeat Navaja para la Ópera los Tres centavos con música de Kurt Weill. Hoy, como antesala a la celebración de la Fiesta de la Música que se realiza en muchos países del mundo todos los 21 de junio, escucharemos la pieza Pedro Navaja iniciando con un fragmento de la versión de Weill, seguido de Louis Amstrong finalizando con la versión conocida por todos en la voz de Rubén Blades.
