Alfie is weighed down with this guilt but after meeting and killing her untrustworthy contact and learning of Alfie's previous actions, Zahra vows never to see him again. Alfie hopes to make amends by visiting the Hebrides in search of her dad. In Northern England, Bet Sykes awakes to find John Salt waxing lyrical about his new plan. He wants to create an enhanced army to take the fight back to the English Government and Captain Blighty. Bet escapes his clutches with Julie in tow but is mortally wounded in the attempt and sends her baby to live with her sister Peggy before bleeding out on a park bench.  Meanwhile, Thomas Wayne pays a visit to his father and family manor. After discussing their strained relationship Thomas tells his dad "Love isn't enough" a sentiment he later seals with a bullet in an illegal lane of the city.
