Tongues of fire come down as the Holy Spirit rests and burns upon individuals from differing lands. They are equipped to do what they cannot do on their own, and hence, the church is born. This Pentecost, we will review and celebrate the story and also dig deeper into the character of the Holy Spirit who comes to us. Using the initial verses of 2 Timothy, we will be reminded that the Spirit of power is bound by love and self-discipline. The Spirit uses families to pass this faith down generationally, as was the case with Timothy.
