Perimenopause - The Financial Surprise You Didn’t See Coming | HDM 426

from Her Dinero Matters · host Jen Hemphill

Have you hit that proverbial midlife stage only to realize that, lately, you just don’t feel like your former self? Or maybe you have experienced a series of symptoms that no medical practitioner can properly explain? If this resonates, perimenopause may be behind it all. In this special episode, Amanda Thebe, a fitness and women’s health expert, will walk us through her personal experiences with perimenopause and why educating ourselves is so crucial. If you are a woman, intuitively you know that perimenopause and menopause are a reality you will someday have to live through. But, if I asked you how that day-to-day reality would look, do you trust your ability to paint a detailed picture? Can you see yourself doing things differently? Changing the relationship you have with not only your body, but also with your beliefs? If the answer is no, no need to panic. Menopause (and its little sister, perimenopause) is a reality every woman will have to walk through, but to this day, awareness around this new life stage (what it entails, how it affects your day-to-day life, how to manage it better, etc) is still in development. This is why, in this week’s episode, I’m having a much-needed conversation with Amanda Thebe, a fitness and women’s health expert who has spent the last 10 years of her career talking and generating awareness about menopause. In this slightly out-of-the-ordinary episode, Amanda will share her experience navigating the stages of menopause and demystify what it means to live through the changes. In this episode you will learn: Why getting proper support from professionals in the medical field is so challenging. The impact that perimenopause can have on your finances (and how to ease the transition). One thing you should know about perimenopause to better prepare for it. For a quick recap of this episode go to https://www.jenhemphill.com/426The post, Perimenopause - The Financial Surprise You Didn’t See Coming | HDM 426 appeared first on the Her Dinero Matters Podcast.

Managing Next Generation Energy Systems Cambridge University Background Stakeholders working with energy systems have to make complex decisions formulated from risk-based assessments about the future. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation. TomCattt Thomas Patton From the beginning music has prowled with accordion lessons at a young age, followed by sax, blues harp and more recently piano, vocals, song writing and recording. Thomas Patton (AKA TomCattt) credits his mother for his stage name "TomCattt” as she was big on nick names for those she held close to her heart. TomCattt's music is best described as easy listening and sometimes retro, yet with a contemporary mix and feel. Accompanied by the creative tracks of a number of gifted musicians, his first album Hiiyaaaaaaaaaaa inspires imagination and finds a way to impress with a unique vocal sound, compelling harmony and gripping melody. The lyrical content is in fact a living reflection of this artists emotional journey that followed leaving love, finding a new love only to lose love once again. Hiiyaaaaaaaaaaa was released on June 1st, 2013 and all are invited to Soundcloud, Bandcamp, ReverbNation and Cdbaby where "A Question" is free download and to enjoy TomCattt's website tomcattt.com.
