The Philadelphia Phillies started the week off hot as they swept the Chicago Cubs, who were returning from their games in London, UK. Despite scoring 19 runs on Saturday, the Phillies ended the week disastrously by losing the series to the Washington Nationals. Once again the Phillies struggled with runners in scoring position in the two losses to the Nats, going 1-8 in both Friday and Sunday’s loss. Nick Castellanos has been named as a National League reserve and the Phillies lone representative for the upcoming All Star Game in Seattle. Was Nick Castellanos the only worthy player to be the Phillies All Star representative this year? Nick has put the struggles of last year behind him and has been the Phillies' best and most consistent offensive player so far this year. This is the Nick Castellanos the Phillies and Phillies fans are glad to see after the struggle of last year. Hopefully, Nick can get some help offensively and this team can continue to play well. Moving on from the Cubs and Nationals, the guys take a look ahead to the upcoming week's schedule which includes 6 games on the road starting in Tampa Bay and Miami. This will be a tough stretch for the Phillies but if they end it well they can make up some ground with the Marlins in the NL East standings. Starting the week off against one of the best teams in baseball in the Tampa Bay Rays, and old friend Zach Eflin in Monday’s game. Then the Phillies travel to their house of horrors and take on the Marlins. The Marlins are 3 games ahead of the Phillies in the NL East standings and 1.5 games ahead of them for the Wild Card spot. The Marlins have been playing very well recently which has made it hard for the Phillies to make up ground with their good playing.
