In this weeks episode we discuss the joy of sacrifice in Christ according to Philippians 2:14-18. We also discuss self ambition. What is self ambition? A desire to put one’s self forward and not having a spirit of humility. It focuses on the political pursuit of an office and trying tactics to get an unfair advantage over an opponent. In other words it’s putting yourself above the needs of others. Everything revolves around you‼️ It promotes strife and contentiousness. Promoting vain conceit. Which is excessive Pride or self esteem that has no foundation. In reality vain conceit is an elevated and incorrect sense of self. So in other words self ambition and vain conceit means not letting our actions become motivated by selfishness, pride or one upping the next person. Questions we should ask ourselves -Is my individuality building up others and specifically the church? -Am I putting the Gospel above my preferences? -Do I care more about how people perceive me or about how people perceive Christ in my life? -Do people feel encouraged after spending time with me? -How well did I serve the needs of the people around me?
