Greetings, Cinematic Fanatics! Allow us the trying, taxing, spirit-crushing, soul-killing, legally thrilling, car-bombing, cab ride-calming and thankless task of shadowing, for the length of this 2 hour emotionally cathartic journey, a well-groomed but morally doomed man, who--though a GQ model--is far from a model citizen, who adjusts, shades, bends and distorts the truth under the cover of night, morally dim and/or ambiguous lighting or through loopholes, blackmail and owed favors, Clayton is a man with fragments of a plan, he is, by some, hated, his once colossal ego deflated, his actions, neither by family nor his firm, celebrated, in this warp speed legal construct, a bit dated, from a existential perspective, ill-fated, as he is but a bagman and not a real lawyer, he's metaphorically castrated, as frustrated by the premature passing of his friend whose lifeline was truncated, as his once enthusiastic approach to his work has long since vacated and while the value of Michael Clayton, I long ago painstakingly calculated, I have determined, via a double rewatch recently, that this flick, by my previous meritorious statements regarding its quality, was not fairly compensated; I simply did not demonstrate adequately how this film is so godd*** glorious it remains a cinema consecrated as I remain, in ways I did not even recognize prior, captivated and, so too, will I captivate you cinematic fanatics by way of this Slick Flick Pick, an entertaining, slick/flick-explaining series, a desirable diversion from the main lawsuit filing, defending, crop-defiling, fighting and settling-out-of-court vein of Chemohawk Sessions. You're my Cinematic Fanatic; I, your worthwhile f****** cinephile. For your 44th episode, I review a flick I fondly remember, but upon rewatch wish in the campaign to officially sell, talk up and vote for this slick flick, I wish I was an official member. I rented this fine, legally slick, dialogue quick, corporation corrupting, one fixer's life disrupting flick pick from Blockbuster and watched it while transfixed by this fixer and mesmerized by Clooney's disenchanted eyes, as he navigates their sleazy lies and thwarts their attempted assassination tries, all while wearing conservatively crisp fstars ties. This slick flick was both critically and financially praised and while Tilda, formerly the archangel Gabriel from Constantine, did collect a best supporting actress Oscar, it pains me to admit that neither Clooney nor Wilkinson, while earning nominations, would not get to hold their well-earned gilded trophies. I offer you: Pick 44: Slick Flick Pick: Outhouse Counsel-- Don't Carpool with Clayton (Memo Alarming, Fixer Strong-Arming and Car Bomb Disarming);  (Michael Clayton, 2007)   Today, we discuss--the life saving value of recognizing the dangers, both overt and covert, of your GPS suddenly shorting out on the fritz, how stopping to smell a wayside horse might just prove the life-saving course, that even when you add some pounds and hold back the man's smile, Clooney remains a dapper godd*** son of a legal witch bi***, the moral math on serving as a billion dollar firm's fixer, but them not even furnishing you a set of wheels you can keep, the biological differences between di*** and chicks for Tilda sweats like a toothless cat in a fish factory, but Michael does not sweat a single drop, but then again, Michael may not be human as he has all the cops thinking he is some badass, renegade lawyer and his team of legal eagles thinking he is some kind of vigilante, gilded member of law enforcement, as far as cold, legal, cathartic thrillers go, this one sits comfortably at the top, so many other impersonators proved a flop, you're allowed to, on Clayton's conversations, eavesdrop, but I pity the fool who serves as his chauffer, valet or fstars carhop. -Your worthwhile cinephile: Falsetto Prophet and Red Devil.
