On this episode of The Adventures of Pipeman, Pipeman speaks to Riot Fest! Eyedress talks about where he started in this crazy world and how he had made it to where he’s at now. Eyedress states that he was born into poverty and how his music wasn’t working in the Philippines so when he got the opportunity to tour America in 2018 it changed a lot of things for him. Eyedress speaks about receiving more love and people being more open to his music in America and opposed to in the Philippines. Eyedress tells us how his music is his escape from everything going on around him in the world and how we need that music outlet to be free after COVID-19. Eyedress describes his music as a psychedelic, nostalgic, raw experience. Eyedress mentions how he hopes to work on a new album after the festival and how smooth and great recording was during lockdown. Eyedress encourages you to never give up and shares his experience of working and waiting for ten years before he finally figured it out with his music career and how there were so many times where he wanted to give up before he finally got somewhere with it. Pipeman and Eyedress also discuss listening to music now vs. listening to music in the 90’s where you’d go to the record store and take a gamble on an artist just because the cover looked good and how the experience buying and listening to a record was so amazing. Eyedress tells us that he went to film school before he pursued a career in music and stated that if he wasn’t an artist he would be pursuing a career in directing. Eyedress mentions how his music blew up over TikTok and how incredible platforms like TikTok can be for budding artist.
