PipemanRadio Interviews Paul Quinn of Saxon

from Pipeman's Power of Music · host Talk 4 Radio

On this episode of the Adventures of Pipeman, Pipeman speaks to Paul Quinn of Saxon. Even after 50 years, Saxon are still releasing music with their new album Carpe Diem, having just released an album in ’21. Carpe Diem means seize the day, which meant a lot to Saxon member Biff, who wrote the song after having a bypass. Pipeman believes this is some of Saxon’s best work, and credits the pandemic with them being able to focus on the music, as they compare it to the old days where people would sit down and write music rather than being on tour most of your time. Paul talks about the bands chemistry and how they were able to make it sound like they all recorded together for this album, however they all recorded in different studios at different time. Paul says this worked because they know each other so well Paul recalls back a story of when they played a big festival in Texas in the 90’s and he told Doug welcome to the big time, and from there, the band has steadily taken off. Paul finishes off with going through all the European tour dates and says he hopes to hit the States in the summer.
