On this episode of the Adventures of Pipeman, Pipeman speaks to Chris from Sabaton all the way in Sweden. Pipeman begins by remising about an interview he did with Sabaton in 2019 where they were nearly hit by some falling staging! Chris speaks about writing music during the pandemic and how he never thought it would happen. He believes it allowed them to share their musicianship and really focus on the music. Pipeman brings up some publishing mistakes and how they’re hoping there is none on this album, but what they do have is a new album packed with incredible stories from World War I. Chris jokes had they have used all of the stories they had for the first album it could have been 8 hours long. They also mention how they hope they won’t have to write about another world war, with Russia beginning their invasion of Ukraine this week.Pipeman explains how he enjoys their music as it isn’t cookie cutter, it isn’t tied to a genre. Chris explains that they write the music first before the lyrics as they want it to be a great song initially before the story is even told. Finally, the guys talk about the absolutely amazing festival which is coming up this year in France, Hellfest. Hellfest has one of the most amazing line-ups we’ve ever seen at a festival, including Sabaton. Chris talks about how they were asked to fill in as a headliner when Man-O-War pulled out of the festival a couple years ago.
