The Pipeman interviews Michael Schenker of MSG. The new album is called Universal. The first song is called Emergency. The new album is kind of unusual in a way. A bunch of incredible musicians came and joined him on this new album to help create it. A lot are family and 4 new musicians that accompanied him. They have a main band that plays on the entire record. He goes to Germany to finish the records and have the vocals and melodies down on the new music. They never really going to know what the outcome is going to be like. When michael comes in with the idea it’s really on the spot how they create moment to moment. As a young man Michael new he wanted to be free of self-expression and do it how he sees it without copying. Many ways lead to Michael becoming a guitarist. His first band was at 11 years old. At 13,14,15 he played in multiple bands, and it began from there. It took 2 years to record his fist project and started in 1970. Michael’s dream was to be a musician for his entire life. They have 5 shows in Florida during the tour.
