from Pipeman's Power of Music · host Talk 4 Radio

On this episode of The Adventures Of Pipeman Podcast, Pipeman is joined by Joey from Varius. Pipeman and Joey discuss if cold weather makes for better metal music or not…! Joey is situated near the Niagara Falls area and mentions how the band gets to spend a lot of time together because it’s too cold to go outside so they stay indoors getting their creative juices flowing and making music. Pipeman and Joey also joke about how people get more angry during the winter in Canada because of the cold. Joey expresses his feelings about the lockdown and speaks about how he chose to see the good in the situation and ceased the opportunity to spend even more time with the band. Joey states that it was a great opportunity to just work and grow their music together. Joey also mentions how because the band had all this extra free time, they had more time to sit and reflect on their upcoming EP to make all the changes they wanted to and do everything they thought they needed to because there was no deadline. Joey talks about how generally artists are almost never fully satisfied because they feel like things could always be better however he feels as though this is the best EP they’ve put out so far and that this is the first EP he’s ever done where he can confidently say that everything he wanted to be in the music is there. Joey speaks about the EP, Concordance of The Legion Fall, which is going to be released November 5th on all streaming platforms. Joey explains how there are four songs, one written by each member of the band. Joey talks about how this method of creation is so unique and cool because you get a difference in sounds and personalities coming through all in one EP. Joey mentions how the artwork for the EP also represents each one of the songs and translates to each band member having different tastes in metal music and sub-genres of metal. You can buy the EP through the website, https://bandcamp.com/ and if you buy the CD there’s a bonus song on there for you!
