🫀 Plaque in Your 20s? The REACT Wake-Up Call

🫀 Atherosclerosis doesn't wait for middle age. In the REACT study of 16,808 adults without known ASCVD, silent plaque was found in 57.1% overall—and even in 8.7% of men and 6.7% of women aged 18–29. Plaque burden rose dramatically with age and increasingly involved multiple arterial territories. 🚨 Even more provocative: conventional 10-year risk classification identified only a minority with existing silent disease. Low predicted risk does not necessarily mean plaque-free arteries. 🔍 Prevention may need to think younger—and earlier.
