Stopper le plastique à la source Selon Plastic Odyssey, chaque minute, 19 tonnes de plastiques sont déversées dans l'Océan. C'est l'équivalent d'un camion poubelle. Evidemment, les conséquences pour la santé humaine, la faune et la flore sont indiscutables. Plastic Odyssey a donc décidé d'agir, et surtout d'agir à la source. En effet, cette pollution a beau terminer en mer, elle vient de la terre ! Et malheureusement, quand le plastique finit sa course dans l'océan il est déjà trop tard. Pour preuve : seulement 1% des déchets plastiques flotte. Le reste coule ou se dégrade en micro-particules, impossible à repêcher. Autre constat : 80% de la pollution marine provient aujourd'hui des ville côtières des pays les plus démunis. Dans ces régions, les systèmes de collecte et de recyclage sont quasi inexistants. C'est là qu'intervient Plastic Odyssey. Former les acteurs locaux aux enjeux de demain Plastic Odyssey lance donc une mission d'exploration dans les zones les plus impactées par la pollution plastique. Mission : trouver des solutions pour lutter contre la pollution plastique et parvenir à les répliquer sur d'autres territoires.
