In 2009, he went to the UK in search of something more.  What followed was an intense personal journey of pain and eventual transformation which enabled him to do the work he is currently doing. He has spent the last twelve years on the frontline of some of the hardest human situations in the country—working with homeless youth, trafficked and freshly arrived asylum seekers, and now men on probation for the Ministry of Justice.  He has sat with men who have done terrible things and men who have had terrible things done to them. That experience has shaped everything he writes and speaks about. He is not a therapist nor an academic—he is someone who has done the inner work himself, and has spent over a decade helping others do the same. His latest book, Rise from the Ashes, grew out of a simple handout he wrote for vulnerable young people at a residential project in West Sussex.
