She coaches endurance athletes through Mito-Endurance Coaching, LLC and operates a cash-based physical therapy practice, Natural Performance Rehab, LLC in Colorado Springs, CO. For fun Sam runs ultras and Spartan races. Most recently she was a contestant in season 2 of NBC's "Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge" and competes regularly with the All-Army Obstacle Course Racing team. In 2016 Sam finished the Leadville 100 Trail Run wearing sandals.
