Guest: Kage SalvoKelly “Kage” Salvo is a U.S. Air Force veteran and Jiu-Jitsu practitioner who has been involved with the We Defy Foundation since its early stages around 2016. Growing up in the Charleston, South Carolina area, Kage served from 2000 to 2015, with assignments at the Pentagon supporting the Secretary of Defense and Air Force Acquisition, as well as roles with U.S. Strategic Command and U.S. Central Command. After leaving military service he continued supporting the military as a consultant working with Naval Special Warfare and U.S. Special Operations Command. He began training jiu-jitsu in San Diego around 2015–2016, where he found a renewed sense of structure, challenge, and community during his transition to civilian life.Through We Defy, Kage has played a hands-on role in building relationships, supporting events, and expanding partnerships within the jiu-jitsu and veteran communities.
