Chris Elliott (Cell Arts Media and  ⁨@Black-Angeles⁩ )  caught up with Davey Ferchow, vocalist and guitarist of Portland's  ⁨Dry Wedding⁩, to discuss the band's third album, "The Back of Beyond," released July 31, 2026, via Vesperian/ Metal Blade Records. Davey breaks down the making of the band's heaviest and most ambitious record to date, how the volcanic badlands, forested valleys, and Painted Hills of Oregon shaped the album's atmosphere, and what it took to get here after the band's van and all of their gear were stolen at the end of a West Coast tour in 2023 , forcing them to rebuild from scratch before returning to the road only months later.Dry Wedding formed in 2018 after vocalist and guitarist Davey Ferchow posted Craigslist ads searching for musicians inspired by The Birthday Party, Swans, and 16 Horsepower. "The Back of Beyond" follows their pandemic-era debut, The Long Erode, recorded with legendary producer Billy Anderson (Neurosis, SLEEP, Witch Mountain), and their self-financed second album, "Sway."
