Chris Elliott (Cell Arts Media and  ⁨@Black-Angeles⁩ )  caught up with Davey Ferchow, vocalist and guitarist of Portland's  ⁨Dry Wedding⁩, to discuss the band's third album, "The Back of Beyond," released July 31, 2026, via Vesperian/ Metal Blade Records. Davey breaks down the making of the band's heaviest and most ambitious record to date, how the volcanic badlands, forested valleys, and Painted Hills of Oregon shaped the album's atmosphere, and what it took to get here after the band's van and all of their gear were stolen at the end of a West Coast tour in 2023 , forcing them to rebuild from scratch before returning to the road only months later.Dry Wedding formed in 2018 after vocalist and guitarist Davey Ferchow posted Craigslist ads searching for musicians inspired by The Birthday Party, Swans, and 16 Horsepower. "The Back of Beyond" follows their pandemic-era debut, The Long Erode, recorded with legendary producer Billy Anderson (Neurosis, SLEEP, Witch Mountain), and their self-financed second album, "Sway." Chris Elliott  (Cell Arts Media  @Black-Angeles ) caught up with Mark Solotroff, vocalist and analog synth player for Chicago's Anatomy of Habit, to discuss the band's fifth full-length album, "Paired Sentinels," self-released and available on LP, CD, cassette, and digital. Mark breaks down the album's four expansive compositions, the themes of repetition, memory, identity, and emotional erosion that run through the record, and what it means to reach this level of internal chemistry with the band's longest-running lineup. "Paired Sentinels" was recorded and mixed by Sanford Parker, marking the band's fourth collaboration with the renowned producer, and mastered by Collin Jordan. The LP version includes an exclusive bonus seven-inch featuring two instrumental tracks created by Solotroff from practice space recordings, not available on any other format. Stein of veteran German thrash institution Exumer to discuss the band's new studio album "Death Mask Messiah," set for release on August 28, 2026, through  Metal Blade Records, their first new full-length in seven years. Mem breaks down the album's politically charged conceptual framework, drawing on US politics of the last decade, the pandemic, the weaponization of misinformation, and the thirtieth anniversary of the Waco standoff with the Branch Davidians, which inspired the track "Allocated Savagery.""Death Mask Messiah" was produced by Dominic Paraskevopoulos, known for his work with Kreator and Caliban, and mixed and mastered by Arthur Rizk, whose credits include Soulfly and King Diamond. The record has one of the more remarkable backstories in alternative rock history. Originally recorded in 1998 as the intended follow-up to "Electriclarryland," the album was shelved by Capitol Records, who deemed it uncommercial.
