from NTA Video Stories

Little Rock, Arkansas – A police pursuit ended in a crash that caused a brief power outage in Little Rock after a suspect fled from a traffic stop on July 31. According to the crash report, an Arkansas State Police trooper attempted to stop a white Kia Optima after it was seen driving left of center and failing to maintain control on I-40. The vehicle was stopped on I-30 before the driver fled. The pursuit continued onto I-630 before moving onto University Avenue and eventually reaching Cantrell Road. The trooper then used a Tactical Vehicle Intervention to stop the vehicle. The Kia crossed onto the sidewalk, damaged an electrical line, struck a retaining wall and overturned. The crash also damaged the sign of the 1836 Club. The damaged electrical line caused a brief power outage in the area. The suspect, identified as Patrick Johns, was thrown from the vehicle and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Johns faces multiple charges, including fleeing, unauthorized use of a vehicle, criminal mischief, possession of a controlled substance, driving left of center, no seatbelt and having an open container of alcohol.
