Politics Part 2: Vaccine Stupid

I think everyone agrees that, in a vaccine-scarce environment, it's critical to vaccinate our First Responders and Medical Staff first.But, whoever decided that the rest of the population should be lined up by age with the people closest to dying from old age at the head of the line, and our youngest children at the back, is someone with whom I disagree.Why are grocery workers and other public servers and check-out clerks not the very next on the list?If our society values sending children back to school, why are we not vaccinating teachers, school children, and their families before the oldest people in the country?Why does it make more sense to add 5 or 10 years at the end of someones life, when we could save 40 or 50 years by saving a person who provides the financial support for a family and who's untimely death means a child grows up without a mom or a dad, or a house, just so grandpa can hang on a little while longer?And who decided?  Who should?
