Politics vs. Perspectives with Coach Camp

from Motivate with Coach Camp · host Coach Camp

Politics vs. Perspectives – This week I attempt to walk the line of between politics and keeping things in perspective. “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” ~ H. Keller   Shying away from tough topics is never the way to support positivity.  However, some topics need the right tone and perspective to be received.  I don’t think I’m stretching it to say that politics and religion can be the two topics that are many times left untouched in mixed company.  This got me to thinking about why that is and how I could bring something to the table on the topic. It is my feeling that most people find themselves becoming emotionally attached to these topics because, for many of us, it is those things that help mold our identity.  To question one’s religion or politics can be seen as questioning their very existence.  In addition to this perspective, I feel like people are tribal in nature.  To find the group that we fit in with means we have validation to our convictions. I would never suggest that anyone should be less passionate about their personal convictions.  Nor should they capitulate to the pressure of following the majority.  It is our individuality that gives us the flavor to life.  I would hate to think that everyone saw the world the same as me and liked all of the same things I like.  Many times in my life I was completely certain of some things and couldn’t find a way to see things differently.  However, in time and with some different experiences, I found myself having a complete change of heart about certain things.  Some real world examples are addiction, homelessness and education to name a few. The only way we can allow for opposing perspectives and ideas is to allow discussions of opinion.  This means that we avoid feelings of emotion and jointly understand that different opinions shouldn’t mean we have a lack of respect or love for the other person, but rather we simply have a different opinion.  I truly hope that you find this episode enlightening and thought provoking.   Please continue to listen and support this podcast and be sure to check out my social media content on my website http://MotivateWithCoachCamp.com   Also, if you are interested in becoming an official sponsor of this podcast please click the link below to learn more.   👉 SPONSOR THIS PODCAST -  https://bit.ly/443wPRj 🔗 WEBSITE - http://www.motivatewithcoachcamp.com 📺 WATCH - YouTube and Facebook 🎧 LISTEN - Apple and Spotify   This episode was recorded at SRP Studios and Produced by Shelby Row Productions LLC SRPStudiosLLC.com
