Fox News put the likely-voter lead near 11. Angus Reid had Democrats ahead by 16. Nate Silver's model had the generic lead around D+9.6, with Election Day set for November 3. Wayne's case is that these numbers repeat the same poll pattern voters have seen for years, and that the midterms are still in play. Wayne then goes to Roger Stone on Wayne's plan for a presidential national-security emergency on elections. The idea, which Wayne has pushed since the spring and which Trump has amplified, would go past the stalled SAVE America Act: photo ID, proof of citizenship, tighter mail-ballot rules, and paper ballots. They weigh whether it can actually be implemented this close to November 3, after Trump's earlier "stranger things have happened" response and repeated reposts of Wayne's columns.
