Powerback 24: Leave Some of Your Passions as Just That

from The Gutsy Podcast | Mindset, Personal Development & Entrepreneurship for Women · host Laura Wallace | Worx Graphic Design

Outside of being a business owner, I'm going to guess that there's a handful of hobbies that you really enjoy doing. It could be working out or gardening or traveling. Everyone has their own thing that brings them a little extra joy in their life. And then sometimes comes this turning point where we make the things that bring us so much happiness into a chore or into something that we have to perfect. It actually took me a little bit of time to record this episode because I'm thinking to myself, "What are some of my hobbies that I love to do that I feel like I don't have to put a hundred miles an hour behind,?" And I realize in this exercise that I actually struggle with that a little bit. So this episode is just as much for me as it is for you. This week, I want you to take your power back by letting some of your passions be just that—passions. Things that you enjoy doing, things that allow you to refocus your mind, or maybe even not think much at all—and be content with them just being something that you love to do. Something that I really love doing and most people would be like, "What?" But it's kind of mind-numbing for me and that's painting my house. There's something about just getting my hands dirty and rolling the paint on the wall and watching the transformation literally happening in front of me. And that oh-so-beautiful moment where you get to peel the tape off of the ground or off of the edge and you just get this nice crisp, clean line. It's, it's so satisfying. I literally just got done painting the trim in our basement and I was scooting my ass around, you know, all the different corners and I was just thinking, "Oh, I just really enjoy doing this."(See Transcript Tab for More)- - -Mentions:Valerie BurtonFor more inspiration, follow along with us at:thegutsypodcast.comfacebook.com/thegutsypodcastinstagram.com/thegutsypodcastinstagram.com/thatlauraauraSupport the showLeave a Review! We love, love, love to read your comments, feedback, and reviews.
