Powerback 9: Ask Questions, We're All Learning

from The Gutsy Podcast | Mindset, Personal Development & Entrepreneurship for Women · host Laura Wallace | Worx Graphic Design

On this weeks #powerback, we're going to talk about the power of asking questions versus feeling completely caught up in your head and wondering what the heck you're doing. There is this thought and feeling and process that we often create within ourselves, that we feel like if we have to ask questions, that we are going to be perceived as though we are not smart enough, good enough, or ready enough to do the things that we're doing. You see, there's this negative stereotype that comes along with asking questions that makes people feel like asking a question is a weakness, when in reality, it's one of the greatest opportunities that we have. When you open yourself up and ask questions, you find answers. Which gets you to the results much faster. Or sometimes, it just contributes to your learning process and can even prevent you from making some mistakes. As business owners, we often think that if we have to ask our team or admit that we don't know how to do something to our team, that they're going to think of us differently. We're also often worried that we're going to ask a question that sounds stupid to someone else, as if we should already know all the answers to everything on the planet. But there is no such thing as a stupid question - only ridiculous reasons that we create in our heads for why we shouldn't ask in the first place. I want you to take your #powerback by asking someone for help in an area that you have been struggling in, and this could be anything. There's a quote that says, "If you are the smartest person in the room, then you're in the wrong room." And I really believe in that because if I were perfect at all the things that my team does, then I wouldn't need a team. And that kind of defeats the purpose. I love to surround myself with people that are smarter, better, more amazing at the things that they do best so that I can do what I do best, as well.Asking for help is honestly a huge sign of growth and strength. It tells the world that you don't have to do this alone and you're willing to invite trusted people in to help you along your journey. Not only are you going to grow, but you're going to enhance someone else's life by saying "Yes, your skills and knowledge and abilities are important and they will impact my life as well." - - -For more inspiration, follow along with us at:thegutsypodcast.comfacebook.com/thegutsypodcastinstagram.com/thegutsypodcastinstagram.com/thatlauraauraSupport the showLeave a Review! We love, love, love to read your comments, feedback, and reviews.
