PREMIERE: Alejandro Molinari - Sunrise Blow (Roe Deers Remix) [Nein Records] 2017
from Como Las Grecas · host Como Las Grecas
An indomitable musician and producer, Alejandro Molinari’s draw influences from conspiracy theories, neo-esotherics and supernatural archeology. His musical references range from post-punk to old-school techno such as Paranoid London, The Normal, Cybotron and Anthony Rother. The Venezuelan-born Alejandro Molinari describes his process of creation as “riding a beast to manipulate frequencies”. His tracks are polylingual, singing in English, French, Spanish and German, and even at times employing a bizarre dialect that amalgamates them all. Analog synthesizers, guitar riffs and the use of the lost Solfeggio scale supply his music with unique electro-magnetic frequencies. In June of 2016, Molinari released his first official EP “Break the Bricks”, with the Japanese label Blindetonation. The track Peso Muerto gained him wide acclaim and is an unmistakable influence of his time spent living in Mexico and his immersion in the techno scene with the likes of Daniel Maloso, Rebolledo and Thomass Jackson. This upcoming Spring, Alejandro Molinari will be releasing his latest EP, Sunrise Blow, with the British label Nein Records. The EP is complemented with remixes by Alinka and Roe Deers. Roe Deers is a Lithuanian-based audio-visual project led by Liudas and Oskaras, two besties, often mistaken for brothers. Liudas first started DJ’ing at his parents’ club at the age of 12 while Oskaras made his transition from a geek kid into a proper visual artist. The two met while clubbing in their teenage years and eventually developed a shared taste for what’s right on the dance floor. On the Independence Day of Lithuania they picked an oddly folkloric name and that was the start of the Roe Deers project. While most of the electronic music follows a clear and often monotonic pattern, you never know what you will get from Roe Deers. Liudas and Oskaras tend to step out of what is commonly acknowledged as a standard formula of success, but it doesn’t make them distant from their audience. Roe Deers employ all shades of love in their shows so that the only response you can give them is dance.
