After their latest EP Psychic Antenna on Berlin-based R.i.O Label, Brooklyn Electronic music duo brainwave research center returns with their 4th self-released LP, Night Life. A soundtrack-like selection of vignettes inspired by the sounds of night time creatures and moods, Night Life is an attempt at capturing feelings of existing at night in liminal spaces. Listen deeply in the dark to: night creatures emerging at dusk in “night life” the hypnotizing city lights in “tower of light” drifting off to sleep in “effective dreaming” the cool, stark emptiness of nature slowing down in “slow to grow” tunneling through “cyber space” the nightly synthesis of sleep in “extra sensory preception” the beautiful unreal of dreams of “soft spot” the grey days of winter in “cloud cover” the early darkness of a setting sun in “early winter” Electronic motifs, rhythms, and textures tie together using various analog and digital synthesizers as well as various found instruments. Primary instruments include ARP 2600, Ensoniq Fizmo, Kawai K5000, Oberheim OB8, Korg MS-20, TR-606, & flute.
