US house stalwart Demarkus Lewis joins the past and the future with his sophomore release on Vibe Me To The Moon Records. Demarkus Lewis has made a significant contribution to the evolution of house music since the turn of the millennium. His deep, organic, cultured sounds are up there alongside house greats and sometime collaborators like Glenn Underground and Boo Williams. His style merges vintage vibes with fresh perspective on influential labels including his own Grin Music, Grin Traxx and Grin & Bass, and he has DJed at key spots everywhere from Tresor to Smartbar. He continues his fruitful relationship with Nightsteppaz's Vibe Me To The Moon Records with this latest single. The superb 'Drowning In Your Potion' comes in two mixes. The ‘Main Mix’ radiates intimacy thanks to romantic vocals that are whispered closely in your ear. There's a gooey core to the stripped back and deep, dubby groove while lithe synth pads add heat and envelop you in a love-soaked atmosphere that dissolves thoughts of the outside world. The ‘Dub Mix’ transforms the vocals, smearing and refracting them while chopping them between jazzy chords. Crisp, upright drums give the groove extra weight but the mix remains drenched in warm, fuzzy harmonies that speak to Lewis’ masterful musical touch.
