PREMIERE : Edmond Wells - Scar Reef

Scar Reef was made on Sumbawa in 2024 and carries some of that in-between feeling of being away, observing and moving through a place. It became a small reflection on distance, attention, and the things that stay with us after leaving a place. For the artwork, Gustav Kobus created a collage from photographs I took at a traditional buffalo race there, trying to capture some of the feeling and atmosphere of that time. A video version of the piece, showing Gustav painting the artwork as it unfolds, can also be seen on Bandcamp & YouTube. Scar Reef marks Vol. 1 of ALTROVE, a self-released collaborative series exploring what remains of the places we move through.
